Exclusive! Exclusive!: 60's Makeup making the headlines !

HELLO!

Today we will be talking about 60's makeup much more in depth and the characteristics of it that blow peoples mind ! (some people .. lol )

~~~ Anyways during this time most of the advertisements  focused mostly on the feature most women wanted to enhance during this time ... the eyes.
In such cases , neutral lips were also advertised because every girl wanted to look like a QT! oohhh!
First of all lets learn on how the 60's makeup look became to be the 60's makeup look !?
The 60's was right after the war (tragedy sigh) .. so the  youth decided to put some lipstick on and smile the tragedy away. Therefore they started to seek interest in fashion!
Mod looks started to peek through thanks to the "modernist" located in London. Bringing Twiggy to be one of the iconic women showcasing and strutting this look everywhere. If you don't know how twiggy looks here are some cute pix!!! (fyi she was the flawless women on our Vintage club pamphlets).
However then later the Hippie movement peaked in introducing more of neutrals and more natural faces and products !
The makeup must haves during this time were entirely from 3 makeup brands: Max Factor, Mary Quant, and Yardley.
I believe Max Factor is still around .. if not then slap me across the face lolol
Anyways the key makeup "points" were fake eyelashes, dark shadow crease ,  pale lips and pastel colors. The false lashes were a "must HAVE LIKE I NEED IT OR ELSE" type of thing. Especially for the lower lash line.
Now that i have given you some EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE  of 60's makeup! Hopefully it opened some sort of makeup knowledge??? Anyways I will be deucing out so yeah!
BYEEE until next time !
Gal of the Era: Mia Farrow
Hello vintage scouts and welcome to the first installment of Gal of the Era! In Gal of the Era we will commemorate a certain person from the era we are recognizing that month and wish we were as cool as them. Since we are in 1960s, our first gal will be Mia Farrow in the 1960s. Mia Farrow has been in many movies, her movies from the 60s include  Rosemary's Baby, John and Mary, A Dandy in spic, and Secret Ceremony. Her style was impeccable and her hair style was created by the 60s hair God, Vidal Sassoon.
 A perfect shot of her Perfect hair.
 Her hair being styled by Vidal Sassoon in Rosemary's Baby.
 She wore many Peter Pan collars like the one above.
 She even looks cute while holding a knife.
 I can't even explain to you how much I love this picture.
Mia Farrow's signature outfit was a shift dress of  any kind and a small heel or loafer.
 I hoped you like this Gal of the Era! See you all at Tuesday's Meeting!
xx,
Cristianne
